Help with Cuneiform in English Please

Sorry I don't speak Russian. I just have a few questions:

Which is currently the best version? The new open source Windows version ( http://www.cuneiform.ru/downloads/se...eiform_eng.exe ) or the original version 12 release ( http://www.cuneiform.ru/downloads/cuneiform.zip ) ?

Does Cuneiforum have a batch mode, for OCR of multiple images in a directory?

Does Cuneiform work without a supported language dictionary, as long as the language uses the Latin alphabet?

1) That depends. If you need a GUI, then you're correct, try the latest packaged release, as the other version you're pointing to does not seem to contain the English interface. If you don't, then probably you might wish to try the latest portable effort: https://launchpad.net/cuneiform-linux . The pre-compiled binaries are not available yet, but we do plan to make them available when time permits.

2) Yes.

3) Probably yes, but the recognition quality would be inferior. Which language do you need?

I will be using the setup_openocr_cuneiform_eng.exe on Wine under Linux for now. I will be very interested to see the progress of the Linux GUI port.

As for the language, I work with very uncommon South American native languages, so there is no dictionary. The quality will of course be inferior.

Кстати - почему на главной странице http://openocr.org нет линка на простейшее англоязычное описание продукта? Элементарнейшая ведь вещь - и этого нет.
